Plan for Visual Application Animation

After playing around with some digital animation techniques I d decided I feel this was not going to work for my final outcome. Therefore I wanted to play around with a more traditional technique.

To do this my plan is to create digital pieces of artwork and print them off layer by layer so I am able to move elements around and add to the overall animation. To help with this thinking process I created a minimap to plan out my ideas and show how it will build up to create the final piece. Below shows this and all the different elements which I feel were an important part to think about when it came too planning my animation.

Once I figured out what I wanted to include I began to draw each individual layer and component. To draw these I used procreate and used bright fun colours that I feel would draw the viewer in. In these illustrations I also use the same colours and style of textures from my visual application project so it sticks to the overalll theme of my narrative and the other final pieces I am creating.

Above shows all my individual layers and elements that I will print for my animation. In this I have three different Vostok 6 illustrations, five planet's and also the main background. I chose to have three different Vostok 6 illustrations as each has a different shape of the smoke therefore I will alternate them throughout the animation top create a moving effect from there smoke.  The biggest element of my layers will be meh background, this will be a size A3 sheet which I will lie against a flat white board helping to add light when shooting.

When shooting for this animation I also plan to use my DSLR camera and have it stood firmly on a professional tripod. Im lucky enough to already own these items before hand and therefore when researching that these are often used in production I felt it was only right to use them for my own final animation.  Other elements I must think about is also artificial lighting. It best to use artificial lighting when shooting as natural lighting can be unreliable due to the light changing and moving over the course of the day.

Moving forward I would loin to do some experimentations and run a few test shots to see how its working and confirm this is the route I want to go with my final animation.
