For our first animation task we were required to look at the app 'flip a clip'. This was more simplistic software which allowed us to experiment and play with different techniques specifically being the 12 principles of animation. The first two experimentation's involve a simple ball bounce and pendulum drop.
Above shows my first animation created flip a clip. This piece shows a ball drop in which I use techniques such as squish and stretch. Squish and Stretch is an important element of an animation as it help bring life and a sense of realism to the object. For a first animation there were element I was happy with. However, there was definitely parts that needed improving, for example the timing in places was poor especially as the ball launches back into the air as it hangs on the floor for an abnormal length of time. To improve this I could delete some key frames and smooth out some movements too help create a realistic feel to the drawing.
The second animation experimentation was a pendulum drop. This animation shows two of the principles, arc and timing. For this piece t was important to think about there timing of how the pendulum falls and hold for a slight second. Ittb also it is important to think of the arc within the natural fall as this adds a realistic feel to the pendulums' characteristics. I was overall happy with this piece and felt it was more successful than there ball drop as I was able to think about timing. Moving forward I would think about adding context maybe a situation, I would also the length the animation to add to the piece.
For ask extra personal experimentation I wanted to see how I could use flip a clip to create a slight longest animation with a different scenario. In this piece we see a bee flying across the screen. The idea was to look at its natural movement and see the lines that show tires path create arcs within the animation. This was my favourite of the animations as I felt the timing was much better and also drew the viewers eyes across the screen by adding the unusual movements. Moving forward, if I wads to improve this I would add natural elements and maybe a surrounding scene to show the bee's environment.
Overall for my first attempt using animation software I felt this was successful however there is definitely elements that if eel need to be improved on such is timing and the overall length of the animation.
